A police chief’s daughter in home security sales, meets an art gallery owner, and they hatch a plot to steal overlooked but valuable paintings from her wealthy clients’ homes.
SYNOPSIS
Emma, is sales manager for a home security company and the police chief’s daughter. Bret runs a small, successful fine art gallery. Emma is miserable, in an empty marriage. She loves art and painting, but hasn’t painted for a while. Bret doesn’t always like his clients’ motives for buying paintings. He’s single and focuses on his work.
Emma and Bret meet at an art show. They’re instantly attracted and perfectly matched. He’s a dreamer. She’s a dreamer’s dream – beautiful and connected. She has clients who need paintings; he has clients who need to protect their mansions. In their first conversations, they discover shared jealousy and disdain for clients who collect art to impress others, not to appreciate the work. He has an idea that will push them both across lines they’d never seriously considered.
Emma and Bret carry out a series of carefully planned thefts, taking overlooked but valuable paintings from her clients’ homes. Bret can get rid of the paintings before the victims realize they’re gone. Emma is hesitant at first, but she’s swept away by the emotion and excitement. Bret goes from aggressive to cautious, and has to reign in his overeager partner. He wants them to run away and enjoy the spoils, but Emma has one last score to settle.
Then fate trips them up. The operation collapses around Emma and her father, Howard. She turns against Bret, setting him up for the police. Or so it seems. Are dreams worth the price?
